CAALL — Canadian Association of Administrators of Labour Legislation

Overview

CAALL Executive

The Executive is composed of a President, four Vice-Presidents, the Secretary and the Past President. Its role consists of managing the operation of the Association, liaising with the Chairs of the Standing Committees, developing the proposed agenda for the spring meeting and the proposed program and agenda for the annual meeting for consideration by the members of CAALL. There are several meetings of the Executive by conference call, as well as face-to-face meetings, when necessary during the year.

CAALL Standing Committees

CAALL has established a number of standing committees to fulfil the objectives of the Association. It is at the committee level that a good deal of shared activity is carried out on an ongoing basis by the federal, provincial and territorial government officials involved.

Each jurisdiction is invited to place at least one senior representative on each Standing Committee. All committees prepare annual workplans that are approved at the annual meeting of CAALL, and a member of the CAALL Executive is assigned to each Committee to liaise with them.

CAALL also establishes ad hoc committees and working groups on an as needed basis.

The CAALL Standing Committees are:

The Secretary

The Constitution specifies that the Secretary of CAALL shall be appointed by Human Resources and Skills Development Canada with the concurrence of the Executive of the Association. This arrangement has existed since its adoption in June 1939.
